Scrappy

Sometimes you find an old photo album in a Chic-Fil-A box marked “School stuff”.

What we have here:

The sheet that says “Lists” at the top, from left to right: autographs from Mark Price, Tyrone Corbin, and Kevin Johnson (as a Sun, not a Cav).

The sheet with Charles Barkley’s mug on it: Charles Barkley’s autograph. He was very, very mad that I kept yelling his name on his way out to warm-ups. I thought for sure he was going to punch me, but he just scowled, signed, and walked off to not practice free throws. The other, in the spine, is Craig Ehlo.

As you can see, Craig Ehlo and I were dear friends. I have three of his autographs. He wore the number three. He made a lot of three pointers. What this all says is that I have three Craig Ehlo autographs.

The lone slip is Hershey Hawkins’ autograph. I have absolutely no memory of getting this one. I must’ve been too starstruck. Or too focused on my Oreo ice cream sandwich.

Oh, and I was really sad the day Jimmy Jackson declared he was going to the NBA before his senior season at OSU. So I cut that out, and other articles, too.

There is more in this scrapbook (Can you say Randolph Keys!?) and maybe I’ll share some of it in the future. I will not share every clipping that I cut from my brother’s senior year–box scores, game re-caps, articles, these weird weekly write-ups that they printed and passed out before every home game. Those are mine.
